Introduction

Throughout this site you'll find reference to the sorts of risks you should consider and it's important to bear these in mind as you browse through the various sections.

If you are an Investbx account customer, you'll also have access to free advice from experts on UK quoted shares : all you pay is the cost of your call, so do make use of them.

In addition to covering the risk issues in the context of the information you read, we've listed them here and added other factors you should be aware of when using our services, including this website.

Share prices, their values and the income from them can go down as well as up and investors may get back less than their original investment. Past performance is not a guide to future performance.

The extent and value of any tax advantages or benefits arising from the use of tax-advantaged services detailed within this site will vary according to the individual's circumstances. The levels and bases of taxation may also change.

Sharemark notes for investors

Investbx incorporates a trading facility for smaller companies, allowing their securities to be traded and valued via Sharemark, a trading division of The Share Centre. Sharemark is a stock market designed especially for smaller companies, either quoted or unquoted. The following notes apply specifically to investments traded via Sharemark.

  • Shares traded on Sharemark may not be suitable for every investor and any information given within this website should not be regarded as a solicitation or recommendation to buy, sell or subscribe to such shares. If you are in any doubt about the contents of this website, you should consult a person authorised under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 who specialises in advising on the acquisition of shares and other securities. The Share Centre's Advice Service is unable to provide any advice in relation to the shares traded on Sharemark;
  • The shares of Sharemark securities may not be traded on the London Stock Exchange or any other Recognised Investment Exchange. It may be difficult for investors to sell the shares and obtain reliable information about their value or the extent of the risks to which the share price is exposed. The share price and dividend yield of shares in Sharemark securities may fluctuate and fall against the investor's interests. The share price may be subject to sudden and large falls in value, given the restricted marketability of the shares.
  • The Share Centre reserves the right to postpone or cancel any auction and to refuse to accept or subsequently delete any customer orders for any valid reason. Where a customer order has been deleted, notification will be sent by post.
  • The intellectual property rights of the Sharemark dealing facility are owned by The Share Centre.
  • The Share Centre, or a connected company, their clients, officers and employees may have a position or engage in transactions in any of the investments traded via Sharemark.
  • Dealings in Sharemark securities are subject to the terms and conditions of your account with The Share Centre or, if appropriate, the terms and conditions of your account with a Sharemark Authorised Stockbroker. By placing an order to deal in shares traded on Sharemark it is assumed that you have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions and the contents of this website.
